Catching the bus to school
Bus travel is a great way to safely get to and from school.
Catching a bus
All children in Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to free bus travel to and from school. Students from Years 3-6 can use the bus if they live more than 1.6km from the school. Please note that this distance is measured in a direct line and not by road. Students who live out of the school zone are entitled to a private bus subsidy from their home address to the nearest bus stop where the bus starts its journey to the school and return. Bus pass and private subsidy applications are processed through Transport NSW.
For more information about bus travel please contact Sapphire Coast Buslines on 64956452.
Apply for a travel pass
Eligible students can get a free travel pass under the School Student Transport Scheme. Apply for a travel pass today.
Driving and parking
The start and end of the school day are busy times for pedestrians and drivers outside schools.
When driving and parking near our school, please:
- ensure you park safely in school zones
- follow speed signs
- do not make U-turns or 3-point turns outside the school.
We dismiss students from the grounds at 3:15pm. There are three departure points of an afternoon.
When leaving the grounds with your child, we ask that you use the school crossing to cross the road. Please do not cross in front of the school from the driveways or between the bollards and never call your child across the road.
Students can also be dropped off in the morning and collected in the afternoon from the ‘Kiss and Drop’ lane at the front of the school.
There are 3 buses servicing our school. A teacher is on duty to supervise students while they wait for their bus.
Please do not park in the bus zones at the back of the school nor park for longer than 5 minutes in the drop-off zones along the school fence at the front of the school. We ask that families do not enter or exit the school from the back gate for safety reasons.
